Here I’ll just say a few words on the reasons for going for financial reason. To set the one, consider the following idea:
‘The ‘why’ is far more important than teh ‘how’.’
Got it? Basically, to achieve anything difficult in life, you have to have very compelling reasons for going for it. Becoming financially free is not easy. It can take years (usually does) and you will encounter countless set-backs along the way. So the purpose of this piece here is to show you that the only way of succeeding is to continually give yourself compelling reasons for achieving it. To just want more money is not a good enough reason. To give up your job – now thats a good reason. People are always going after the money – yet don’t really know why. To have a reason of wanting to travel the world, set up a charity, own a Ferrari etc – these are all compelling reasons. I don’t who what yours is, but you will need to come up with genuine, heart felt, compelling reasons for this, or you will find it far more difficult to succeed.
A friend of mine really wanted to own a Lamborghini and live in a certain part of town. These were very real, genuine reasons for him to get up early, work late, put in the effort and really succeed. And succeed he did – within about 3 years of him deciding what he wanted, he had it. Alot of his friends said he was lucky – nothing could be further from the truth. He had more hard luck than most people – he just worked harder and smarter than most people.
So your task is to come up with your own reasons for this journey -a good test is that if you wouldn’t be very upset if they didn’t succeed in them, then you don’t want them enough. Simple enough? Find reasons, things you must achieve, that if you didn’t get, you would be incredibly upset about. You need this emotional energy to push you when you want to give up.
I’ve briefly touched on 2 points here which I will write about in another post – the word ‘must’and ‘plan’.
Thats it for now.
Right – so this blog is about getting financial freedom, so whats that got to do with mindset?
Everything.
For years I was cynical about anything to do with self-help, or mind-set, or positivity etc – I thought it was all a load of rubbish. How wrong I was. The following sentence may be the most important one on this entire site:
Success in life is 90% mindset
Literally, if you have the best strategy in the world, it may not be worth much if you don’t have a winners mind set. I see it time and time again, people who should be so successful, but arent, and its nearly always down to them having a poor mindset. People talk about having bad luck etc – and there is a place for this – but in my opinion if you keep on going, you’ll get there eventually. There will be bad luck, but there’ll also be good luck. I am far from qualified to talk about psychology, so to give you a massive headstart I highly recommend anything by Tony Robbins – just read one of his books, and apply what he says, and I guarantee you’ll start seeing results fast.
Hi to all who visit here.
This blog is a small journal of my journey towards financial freedom. This is a goal I’ve had for quite a number of years and in this blog I’ll go over a few lessons that I’ve personally learnt. Please note that I am not trying to sell anything here nor am I saying that my way is the only way. The sole purpose of this blog is for me to tell you the steps I’ve taken so far to achieve my goals. This blog is for anyone who is now in the shoes that I was in just a few short years ago. Believe me, if you want to be financially free, you can certainly do it if you work at it honestly and put in the time. Please do not get sucked into an ‘get rich quick’ scheme you see – if something is too good to be true then it usually is – so use your common sense.
You’ll see that I have tried to accomplish this in a number of different arenas – property, trading and business. I’ll go over the mistakes I’ve made, the lessons I’ve learned and my hope is that you’ll take something positive away from reading it. Please feel free to post comments and if you have any questions I will endeavour to answer them all in a prompt manner.
Enjoy.
